I’d like to dedicate this blog to all who feel defeated, the people who are waiting till tomorrow to follow through on their dreams and eventually years down the line will regret their ways (I can tell you that I am 21 and already feeling this way at times). To all you kids who will read this and brush it off your shoulder. This is to all the people who feel like they missed out on being a popular web-blogger, clothing designer, musician, skater, ball-player, comedian, filmmaker, personal business owner etc. To the people who think it’s not worth it to try. This goes out to all the thinkers who may not be motivated enough, but deep down inside have the talent to create something unique and powerful. To all the people who think they missed the boat but didn’t even realize they showed up an hour early to the dock. To all my fellow college students, worrying about where they are going to be in a couple of years as they are watching their friends and peers on a rise to success. Even if I fail at making my dreams come true, I would like to inspire one person to break themselves of their defeated ways. This is not intended to be strictly a motivational blog, but if it does inspire you, then awesome.
Today is the breaking point. I don’t know how you’re feeling, but I can’t go on living the way I have lived my life up until this point. The last couple of years have been long stretches of gray with random spots of color.
Tonight, I am officially kicking off “Figures, One Day” blog. I’m excited for what this means, but I’m also scared for what could happen to me if we fail (as far as me just losing all hope and succumbing to the inevitable routine ways of this world). I have always written. My father has always said, “a good writer always writes.” It may not be his own line, but it has had a major impact on my life hearing it from him.
It is with this blog that I hope to bring you some of the film that my friends and I have made from short stories and sketches we have written. Also on this blog, you can expect some day-to-day updates and photos. I think most of you will really enjoy what we’ve made and the things we have to say.
So what does this mean? More crude YouTube videos, that just suck? I sure as hell hope not. We have worked hard together to create what we believe to be entertaining. Most of it is in no way shape or form as serious as this initial blog post. I really wish I had a video to put up with this tonight, but I have to speak with my buddies and see which one they want to upload. I can’t just make these decisions without them, but I just couldn’t put off at least making the blog for another night. Lastly, I’m not saying for anyone to drop what they are doing to make their own dreams come true, you still need to go about them in a responsible way. It is important to always be responsible and maintain your focus on a bright future.
So, no more videogames, no more excessive sleeping, no more sitting around with nothing to do and complaining about it. That stops today.
We haven’t been defeated.
